Entry Requirements

Academic Qualification documents

For admission into our MBA programme, we require certificates and transcripts for achieved qualifications. For MBA programme, students are required to produce an Undergraduate Degree (BAC +3) / Equivalent.

All the certificates can be provisional for up to 2 years.

Note: There is a requirement for final award certificate if teaching ended May 2020 for Feb/Apr 2024 entry.

English Language requirements

École de Management Appliqué requires all the applicants to take a recognised English Language test and pass at the required level for the course to which they apply. Tests should be verified using online verification tools, e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo.

Majority English Speaking Countries

École de Management Appliqué is permitted to waive an English test for people from Majority English Speaking Countries:

• They are a national of a Majority English Speaking Country or were awarded their qualification in a Majority English Speaking Country within the last 5 years.
• If through education, they studied or have been living in that country within 3 years of their start date.

English language waiver for applicants who hold an MOI

Students with a Statement of Medium of Instruction (MOI) in English for their previous qualification will be invited for an interview and, upon success, will not need to submit an English proficiency test.

General Requirements

To be considered for admission to our doctoral programmes, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

• Hold a strong master's degree, or an MBA, with a dissertation or project. Diplomas are not accepted.
• The qualification must be relevant to the research subject, such as business administration, finance, or law.
• Demonstrate English language proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
• Submit a letter of intent explaining your motivation for applying to our doctoral programmes.
• Answer the Research Intention Questions for the DBA and the Research Project Questions for the PhD.
• Pass an interview conducted by École de Management Appliqué academicians.

Specific Requirements for the DBA

Research Intention Questions (DBA)

Please provide comprehensive answers to the following questions, within the word count of 700 to 800 words:

• Explain your motivation in applying to do a DBA with Ecole de Management Appliqué.
• What area of Business Administration do you wish to research during your DBA, and why?
• What are the main issues that you will need to address in your research?
• Why do you think these points are the most important?
• What data already exist in the public domain about this area of Business Administration?
• How could your research impact practices or policies in a business or professional environment?

These requirements ensure that our doctoral programmes attract highly motivated and qualified students who are committed to conducting impactful research in their chosen field of business administration.

• Pass an interview conducted by the Head of School.

Research Project Questions

Please provide comprehensive answers to the following questions within a word count of 700 to 800 words:

• State your intention to seek a PhD.
• Describe the area of research you are interested in and the reasons for this interest.
• Explain how this area of research relates to a specific problem in the business sector that interests you (e.g., how it is related to policies, practices, or recognised problems in the sector you will be addressing).
• Indicate what the main research questions might be.
• State how you would answer these questions and what methods might be needed (e.g., data collection, desktop research, interviews, statistical analysis, modelling, etc.).
• List the research skills that you previously used in your studies.
• List any publications you have contributed to.
