Student Visa

If you are coming to study in Paris, you will need a student visa (long-stay visa) or Residence Card for a smooth stay in France.

Upon your arrival in France, you will need to apply for a Residence Card, which will allow you to stay in France for the duration of your studies.

With a Residence Card, you have the right to live, study and work part-time during your course at École de Management Appliqué Paris. The application for the e-residence permit should be done within the first three months of your arrival.

Who needs a visa to study in Paris?

Any international student from a non-European Economic Area (EEA) country willing to study in Paris requires a student visa. This includes both short-term and long-term study periods.

How to apply for a Visa?

The process is broken down into two distinct stages: 

Before applying for a visa, students from EEF countries must first go through the Campus France process. This involves registering and updating information through the Campus France portal.

 

  1. Campus France Registration Details: If not registered, apply at Studies in France  
  2. Submit necessary documents Needed:        
- Passport-size photo (80% face visibility) 
 - Passport copy 
 - CV 
- Statement of Purpose (Visa SOP) 
- Tuition fee receipt 
- Proof of language proficiency 
- All academic documents/transcripts 
- Work experience documents (if applicable) 

Once the Campus France process is complete, students can proceed with the visa application. 


1. Long Stay Visa Application Form: Register and apply at France-Visas 

2. Documents Needed: 

- Passport-size photo (80% face visibility) 
- Passport copy 
- CV 
- Cover letter 
- Elaborated Statement of Purpose (Visa SOP)
- EEF Attestation 
- Campus France NOC
- Campus France payment receipt 
- Tuition fee receipt 
 - Proof of accommodation booked for at least 3 months with a rental agreement
- Medical and travel insurance for at least 3 months following your arrival in France 
- Flight ticket 
- Language proficiency certificate
- Proof of employment or education 

- Financial statements: 

  • Last three months bank statement reflecting sufficient funds or a bank loan sanction letter for one year (minimum of 800€/month required)
  • Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the last three years 

- In case of sponsor: 

  • Sponsor's passport

  • Covering letter from sponsor (mentioning social situation and financial elements)

  • Sponsor's ITR for the last three years

  • Original bank statement of the last three months and salary certificate 

- National identity card

FAQs for students applying for a Visa in PARIS

Q. How long does the visa application process take?

For a student visa in Paris, the processing time can vary, but it typically takes between 3 to 6 weeks after the visa appointment. 

Yes, international students can work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during their studies. Make sure you check with your education provider if their policy allows part-time work for enrolled students. 

Yes, any documents which are not originally in French must be translated by a certified translator. 

If your application is rejected, you can appeal the decision or reapply. It's important to understand the reasons for the rejection and address them in your new application.

Yes, you need medical and travel insurance that covers at least the first three months of your stay in France.
