'Home away from Home’: Why our students love the EMA campus

Student voices: Barituka’s journey from Nigeria to Paris

At École de Management Appliqué (EMA), our campus is more than just a place to study – it is a global community where ambition, resilience and diversity come together. One of our inspiring students, Barituka from Nigeria, shares how EMA became his 'home away from home', and why choosing to study here was a life-changing decision.

“I was drawn to École de Management Appliqué because of its well-structured courses and practical approach to business education,” says Barituka, who is currently pursuing his master's in business administration. “It aligns perfectly with my career goals in project management, consulting and human resources.”

For Barituka, the journey to EMA was anything but simple. The visa process required several interstate trips and countless hours of paperwork and interviews. But his determination paid off.

“I will never forget the moment I found out my visa had been approved. I was travelling and my mum called to tell me. I was over the moon with excitement. It felt like everything I had worked for had finally come together.”

Since joining the EMA campus in Paris, Barituka has found himself immersed in a dynamic environment that extends far beyond the classroom. Surrounded by motivated students from all over the world and guided by expert faculty, he describes the experience as both enriching and inspiring.

“The community here is incredible. I have learned so much from my professors and also from my peers. Everyone is driven, and the diversity of backgrounds adds so much value to every discussion.”

Receiving a 50% scholarship played a key role in making his dream a reality, a testament to EMA’s commitment to inclusive access and recognising talent from across the globe.

Looking back, Barituka reflects on his challenges with pride and a sense of purpose.

“This journey has taught me the value of perseverance. Every obstacle helped shape who I am today. I am grateful to be part of this community and excited about what lies ahead.”

Barituka’s story serves as a powerful reminder that our students are not just here to earn a degree, but also to grow, lead and inspire others.
